Andre Salles-Cunha
CEO & Head Coach
[email protected] Andre has a long history in swimming, together with a fantastic set of accomplishments.

As a Stanford Graduate, Andre was two-time PAC-10 Champion in the 100 Breast, and was a three-time Collegiate All-American.

Since Andre arrived in 2007: QSS and ALMA swimmers have achieved 4 Olympic trials cuts, compiled an ever growing number of CCS victories and and medals, developed several JO and Far Western champions, and set dozens of National Age Group Top 10 times.

As a team QSS has won a USA Swimming Sectional Championships title, hosted multiple Far Western Championship meets and JO meets. QSS has been the flagship program for a league model, and is one of a few select clubs in the nation tapped to beta test the new USA Swimming Block Party meet concept designed to make swim meets more accessible for all ages.

Previously, Andre was Head Coach and Owner of North Florida Swimming (NFS-FL) and Assistant Coach for the University of North Florida’s Women’s Swim Team. In the two years before coming to ALMA Andre's swimmers broke 12 Florida State age-group records, had 10 short course and 5 long course NRT top-16 times, including a National Age-Group Record -- 100m backstroke by world record holder and Olympic Gold Medalist Ryan Murphy.  Andre helped coach the university squad to two conference championships in the Southern States conference. He also coached the Queen's Harbour summer league team to a 39-3 dual meet record in seven years with the club.

Andre has a natural desire to continue to learn more about the sport, and to stay current with the latest ideas in swimming; and he loves to share his knowledge with our swimmers, and bounce new ideas off our coaches and anyone else who might be interested.
